| Rescue Mission
Monday April 14 we brought Kevin to Syracuse to honor him along with 29 other men (from the Syracuse Rescue Mission) to celebrate what God is doing in their lives. We first met Kevin two years ago. At that time he was addicted to crack, and had been so for about 19 years. Today Kevin is clean, serving God, married, and on the President’s List at BCC (Broome Community College). What a great time it was hearing 30 stories of how God has been changing lives at the Rescue Mission. Last month we met with a few clients to help them set goals. Crystal and Charlene have been calling us for about one year. Every few weeks they are in the midst of a crises. We met with them to discuss this and offer a plan to help avoid the same crises from re-occurring every few weeks. Please keep them in prayer and join with us in celebrating what God is doing in Kevin’s life. Shabbat Services Two families have recently started attending services. One of them attended in the past, and has made it back after being away for awhile. The other couple I met a few years ago at a local outreach. We talked briefly and they have checked out our web site a few times. Recently I spoke at the church where one of their parents attend. After hearing about my visit to their parent’s church they have been regularly attending our services. It was very encouraging to see some fruit from our outreach, even though it took a few years. Let this encourage you to not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Gal 6:9 NIV) Please pray that God will continue to bring families to our services. Goldberg Family Caleb participated in another gymnastic competition. In this meet he took 1st place overall for his age bracket. Ravi also competed in a synchronized swim competition. At this meet he took 5th place out of 25. Ravi was very happy with his performance. Ravi’s Bar Mitzvah went very well. My father commented that Ravi did not share a speech, but put on a performance. You should have seen him, he was amazing! I will have to work hard to follow him every week. Vinu’s mom shared how much she enjoyed the music (our Praise & Worship). She said it was very cheerful. In the pictures we can see Vinu’s dad clapping his hands and tapping his feet. This is not something we would have ever expected from him. Vinu has rarely seen him this happy. Reva and Gita are starting to work independently in Math. This is great progress for them, and a big help for mom. Asha has been having stomach pains for about 1 ½ months. The different medicines the Doctor prescribed have not helped at all. Just this week the Doctor took some blood from Asha to see if they can find anything. We are awaiting the results. Please pray for Asha. Vinu has joined a group for Pastor’s wives. She is really enjoying her time with the other ladies. www.jewishjesus.org Last month we averaged 83 unique visitors to our web site. A couple who moved into the community also found us via our web site. They have attended one service and have some desire to attend again. Please pray that God uses our web site to bring people to our services. Part of a recent Passover teaching When you eat the meal, be dressed and ready to travel. Have your sandals on, carry your walking stick in your hand, and eat quickly. (Exodus 12:11 CEV) Moses had to move quickly and get the Hebrews out of Egypt as soon as possible. He needed to do it before Pharaoh had any time to think. They got out just in time. Once again Pharaoh changed his mind about letting the Hebrews go out from Egypt. Pharaoh came after them and caught up with the Hebrews at the Red Sea. But it was just enough time for God to part the Red Sea and get the Hebrews safely through to the other side. Then, at just the right time, He released the water and drowned Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea. Sometimes, timing is everything. We need to be in the right place, at the right time. It is very important that we respond quickly when God calls us to action. We never know all that’s going on so we need to trust God and obey Him right away. He knows what He is doing, and He knows what we need to do, and where we need to go. He also knows when we need to be in a particular place. In order for us to receive God’s promise or provision, we may need to be in a particular place at just the right time. If we are, we will be blessed. If we don’t go right away, we may miss out on what God has for us. Be like the Hebrews when leaving Egypt. Always be ready to respond quickly to God when He speaks to you! Thanks I am so thankful for friends like you. God has been faithfully meeting our needs this year. Please pray that God would continue to provide at least $1,800 every month. Your prayers and/or missions support enable us to reach out in different ways. Thanks. Ron, Vinu, Ravi, Caleb, Asha, Gita & Reva |
