| Messianic Jewish Music
February 4 I’ll be going to Beit Shalom in Utica, NY to learn new Messianic Jewish Music. We need to learn new Messianic Jewish Music, and Messianic Rabbi Stephen Galiley has offered to help us. While Jan (our guitarist) and I learn new music, Vinu and our kids will visit with Deborah (Stephen’s wife) and their kids. Please pray that we’ll be able to learn the new music quickly so we can begin using it at our services. |
| Rescue Mission Kevin completed his first phase of rehab and now has his own apartment. Please pray that he continues to stay clean and grow in his relationship with Yeshua. Last week Wilson, our very first client, fell in the woods and hit his head on ice. This knocked him out for the night. His friend found him the next morning. Due to the extreme cold his foot was badly frost bitten. His friend tried to warm up his foot at a camp fire, and his foot caught on fire. Wilson then had his friend help him to the Library so he could call 911. He’s been in the hospital for one week and the doctors believe he will lose some of his foot. He sounded good on the phone and said he sees this as a wake up call. Please pray for his physical and spiritual well being. "What is new about the New Covenant?" At our Shabbat Services I’ve been teaching about the Jewish Roots of our faith in Messiah. During my next teaching I will ask the question: "What is new about the New Covenant?" The "Old Covenant" was not thrown away, and replaced by a new or different Covenant, so what is new about it? Here are some of my thoughts regarding this. Yeshua has renewed the covenant with Israel. It’s a renewal of vows. When couples renew their vows they do not get new spouses. They just renew the vows they already made with each other. It is new in age. The covenants God made with Moses, Adam, Noah, David, and Jeremiah are older. They were made earlier in time. There is still a sacrifice required to pay for our sins, but there is a new type of sacrifice. Yeshua is our sacrifice instead of an animal. This sacrifice is also new because it is a permanent sacrifice while the animal sacrifices only covered our sins temporarily since they had to be done over and over again. There is still a priesthood, but there is a new priest. Yeshua is our priest instead of a Levite. The length of his priestly service is new. Yeshua serves forever. None of the Levitical priests ever served forever. The torah is now written on our hearts and minds, instead of tablets of stone. This is also new. Goldberg Family We just returned from Florida. We spent some nice time with my parents and enjoyed 2 days in Disney World. The first night there we went out for dinner. A few minutes after we arrived the Manager came to our table and said, "Vinu, is that you?" Ravi heard him, and said, "Mom. That man is calling your name." Vinu looked up and said, "Cousin Sonny, is that you?" It turned out to be Vinu’s cousin that she hasn’t seen in over 20 years. He called his kids and nephew and niece and had them come right over to see us. The next day cousin George, who bought the restaurant with Sonny, was working so we met him too. We had a great time meeting new relatives for the first time. Caleb had a great time going on roller coaster rides while at Disney World. Gita often tells people her name is "Snow White." Almost everyday Reva walks up to people and asks, "What your name is?" (This is not a typo; it’s how she really says it.) Asha is becoming an amazing cook, helping prepare meals for Vinu. Ravi has read several books from"The New Rabbi Small Mystery" Series by Harry Kemelman. He continues to enjoy swimming, although he refuses to do flip turns. Thanks 2007 has gotten off well financially. God brought in about $100 more than budgeted. Please pray that God would continue to provide $1,800 every month so that we can continue giving away tapes/CD’s to seekers. I’m presently seeking God for a Purim message to record on tapes/CD’s. This celebration takes place on March 4 and is based on the Book of Esther. We also hope to seek God for additional ways to reach out. Your prayers and/or missions support allow us to do this. Thanks. Ron, Vinu, Ravi, Caleb, Asha, Gita & Reva Goldberg |
