Franklin Graham Festival

The BGEA staff seemed very pleased with the fruit from the Festival. The Events Center was packed every meeting. Well over 1,000 people responded to Franklin’s invitation to embrace Yeshua. Another 1,000 + made commitments to Yeshua throughout the year at other BGEA events. Several tons of food was collected for our local food pantries. Our pastors are working together, and they are interested in continuing this.
Please pray that we will see pastors continue to work together to build God’s Kingdom in Greater Binghamton.

Rescue Mission

Two weeks ago our Supervisor and Executive Director met with the Mayor. They shared our plans for serving the homeless, and those who are at risk of being homeless. Last week we had the building we are looking to purchase inspected.
Please pray that all goes well in finalizing the purchase.

Mateo and I met with our Supervisor to discuss how we can expand our services after we are able to move in to a building. We talked about how we could serve the guys during the day, and early evening. We also talked about how we will use interns and volunteers. This will be very important as we will only hire two or four more people when we first purchase the building.

In June, the number of homeless people we served increased greatly. A friend at Catholic Charities also said she had more requests for help in June than she did in previous months. I’ve recently gone to Court two times to support our clients. As clients have moved into apartments, we have helped give them needed supplies like bed sheets, toiletries, towels and a few kitchen appliances.

Goldberg Family

Ravi, Caleb and Asha are away for two weeks at a Jews for Jesus Kids Camp. This is the first time they are away from home for this long. Vinu is giving Gita and Reva extra special attention. Reva has learned our phone number. She loves sharing this new "talent" with people she meets. This is not always a good thing, but we’ll just trust the Lord in this. Gita loves counting. So often she will tell us lists of things to do. When she does this, she will lift another finger each time she mentions another item. Vinu is also getting more rest time. A few weeks ago my (Ron) back and hip became inflamed, and caused me great pain. The Doctor gave me a few different medicines, including the Lioderm patch Vinu had after the car accident last year. I decided to try it the day we drove to the Messiah Conference. I figured with two 3 ½ hour drives (in less that 24 hours), I might need extra pain relief. I will never use this patch again. My pain was increased, and I felt very strange. I didn’t use it the following day, and the strange feeling went away. That night I saw a friend, Ward, who had prayed for me last year when I hurt my ankle. God healed my ankle instantly when Ward prayed for me last year so I thought I’d have him pray for me once again. Faith rose in my heart, and once again God instantly healed me. Immediately, I had full use of my hip and legs, and all pain was gone. The next day I wore a doctor’s shirt to celebrate my healing!

Fiddler on the Roof

In June, I began a teaching series based on the movie
Fiddler on the Roof. When I looked at the lyrics to the songs from the movie I sensed this was to be my starting point. Tevye, and others, would sing to express their questions, sorrows, etc. When I looked at the lyrics I realized we too have the same questions and experiences. I begin my teaching by sharing the video clip of the song. Then I teach based on what the song is about. I have also been using a kid’s book to help illustrate a point as well. This provides some more visual, and everyone loves a good kids book. So far, I have taught on "Sunrise, Sunset," "If I were a Rich Man," and "Far From the Home I love."

Shabbat Services

Most weeks we’ve had visitors at our services. Some of them are continuing to attend. For several years I’ve had the desire for our worship to have a
Middle Eastern sound. This would happen by adding certain instruments. One of them is percussion. I hope to search the internet this week and find some instruments that we could purchase. The next thing to do is for me to ask a friend to give me piano lessons. He has sounds on his keyboard, or computer, that have a Middle Eastern sound. I finally realized that if I have the vision, maybe I should learn how to play the keyboard using Middle Eastern sounds. Please pray that I can find the necessary instruments, and that I can learn to play the keyboard in the appropriate way.

Thanks

God is faithful to supply our needs through friends like yourself.
Please pray that God would continue to provide at least $1,800 every month. On July 4, several people from our congregation went to the Messiah Conference. It’s a Messianic Conference held each year for one week. Your giving helped a few people attend this Conference. Some attended for one day, while others went for three days. Whenever people spend time at this Conference they return home with a renewed vision for a Messianic Community, and for reaching out to Jewish people. Your prayers and/or missions support allow us to do what God calls us to do. Thanks.
