We’re still looking to God for the variance we need to purchase a building in Binghamton. The first time our leaders met with the Zoning Board they appeared to be in favor of our plans. At the second meeting we met some opposition. There are only 7 houses on the street where our building is. The rest of the buildings are all industrial businesses. But within the last year, two sex pedophiles moved into homes on the next street over. The neighbors are now very concerned about who we could bring to their street. Please lift this up in prayer for God to have His way. The Zoning Board will vote during the first week in December. Last week we met two young homeless ladies, who are also pregnant. We have been spending much time with them to help them secure housing. Social Services has put them up in a hotel temporarily. We secured housing for one of them last Friday. It took a little extra advocacy from my co-worker to help secure the apartment. The second lady had her water break about two to three months early. She is presently in the hospital. In October, we served 38 different people; half of them were homeless. Gladys Through our outreach with the Rescue Mission I met Gladys. She loves tuna fish and always thanks God for His goodness. During the summer she noticed Ravi’s Messianic t-shirt and got all excited. It turns out that Gladys is Jewish. She loves God, talks favorably about Jesus, but is not yet convinced He is the Messiah. When she saw Ravi’s t-shirt we were already friends, but this took our friendship to another level. I have been inviting her to services ever since. About one month ago she finally came out. She loves our services and comes almost every week. Please pray that Gladys will have the veils lifted and meet the Jewish Jesus! Chanukah is coming! On December 8 we will celebrate Chanukah during our 10:30 Service. We will have a skit, special songs with Davidic Dance, some games, and good food. This is your chance to enjoy some delicious potato latkes (pancakes). If you live in the Binghamton area set this day aside. Bring a friend and a dish-to-pass. As winter is approaching, there is less and less light every week. This is a great time to let God’s light shine as we celebrate Yeshua, the light of the world. Broome County Ethnic Festival On October 20 we celebrated our Shabbat Service at the Broome County Arena. We had a Messianic Display and 15 minutes to worship God with Messianic Praise & Worship from the stage. Friends from Abide in the Vine joined us in Davidic Dance and flags/banners. A Jewish family that recently moved here from Israel stopped by our booth to ask questions. They asked about faith in Yeshua, and how we worship. An inter-faith family also stopped by. The Jewish husband asked me questions for several minutes and then took some literature. October 20 was also Vinu’s birthday so we surprised her with a birthday cake. After our congregants all got some cake, there was still cake left, so Vinu shared it with people in the crowd. Sharing her birthday cake and enjoying ethnic food and dance made for a great birthday for Vinu. Goldberg Family On November 2 I (Ron) celebrated my birthday. Then on November 5 Asha turned 9 years old. We’ve enjoyed a lot of cake and ice cream during this birthday season. Asha is preparing for the Nutcracker Performance. There are extra ballet practices this month so she can be ready for her two performances in December. Caleb, Gita and Reva recently had a Gymnastics Show. Vinu just hosted a Pampered Chef Party at our home. She had a lot of fun, and enjoyed a good time with friends from the present, and the past. Ravi spent a week volunteering for Christian Overcomers, an organization that shares God’s love with the disabled. He had a great time developing a friendship with his roommate, a 30 year old dietetic man who has Downs Syndrom. They did many activities, including: making candy, applesauce, having Chapel, Bible Study, wagon rides, and some awesome fellowship. Ravi plans to make a habit of volunteering at Christian Overcomers, and encourages others to do the same. Thanks I am always in awe of God as He supplies our needs through friends like yourself. Please pray that God would continue to provide at least $1,800 every month. Your prayers and/or missions support will enable us to give out tapes of my testimony and a Chanukah teaching. Thanks. Ron, Vinu, Ravi, Caleb, Asha, Gita & Reva Goldberg |
