Rescue Mission

It’s been wonderful to see
Kevin grow in his new faith in Messiah. His desire to grow, please God, and testify about Him has been very encouraging. In the last few weeks a few other people have requested to meet with us for Bible Studies. This really excites Mateo and I as we are both convinced that a relationship with God is where everything begins.

I recently met with a local pastor and a couple of guys from his church to discuss starting a
Biblical Group for overcoming addictions. I am so excited about this because the world keeps telling people they have a disease, and that it is incurable. This is a lie! The Bible tells us that Messiah came to set us free. He is willing and able to set people free from every kind of addiction. It may take some hard work as we have to battle the flesh and old habits, but Messiah came to save, heal and deliver. I can’t wait to see this group become a reality!

We’re still looking for a building.
Please pray that God would lead us to the right building so we can begin a shelter for men. We would also have Bible Studies, clothing and food distribution, case management, and other ministries all taking place at our building.
Messianic Shabbat Service

Jan is doing a great job leading us in Praise & Worship. Carrie, who we met at the Spiedie Fest, has been out to several services since we met her. Jan’s friend Chris, wants to attend our services but presently works on Saturday mornings. Her boss has talked about changing her work schedule and if he does, she will be able to attend. Please pray For Chris’ schedule to change so she can attend services.

Fall Feasts

A Christian who is married to a Jewish man, attended our
Feast of Trumpets Service with her two daughters. Her daughters have gone to Temple with their father. Last month Vinu met them and one of the kids got excited after Vinu shared about our faith and services. She has gone to Holiday Services with her dad, but after meeting Vinu she wanted to attend our service instead. Please pray that God brings the girls, and their father, to faith in Messiah.

We’re looking forward to our
Sukkot (Tabernacles) Celebration on October 7. We will decorate our sukkah and I will share a message entitled, "Do you have your Green Card?" One spiritual application for Sukkot is that just as the booth was only a temporary home for the people of Israel, earth is only our temporary home. Heaven is now our home and we should be living with this mind set. We will also have a Dish-to-Share. Everyone is invited to attend this joyous celebration.

Outreach

I am looking forward to the
Ethnic Festival on October 21. I will have a Messianic display, including literature and CD’s to give away. I will display a big dreidle and have invitations to give out for our Chanukah party in December. Please pray that God leads many people to our display whose hearts and minds are open.

Goldberg Family

Caleb is getting ready for a Tumble-a-thon at Gymnastics. Asha’s ballet class now meets twice a week. Ravi will begin swimming at the Boys & Girls Club later this month. Reva and Gita attend an Art class at the Boys and Girls Club and get to spend time on computers as well. I recently took Vinu on a date to the Whole in the Wall, Vinu’s favorite restaurant. I (Ron) continue to exercise. Soon I will try on one of my nice suits and see if it’s had any effect on my stomach.

Enjoy a laugh

Jimmy received a parrot for his birthday. The parrot was fully grown, with a very bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was a swear word; those that weren't cursing were very rude. Jimmy tried to change the bird's attitude by constantly saying polite words, playing soft music-anything he could think of. Nothing worked. He then tried yelling at the bird, but the bird got worse. He shook the bird, and the bird got madder and ruder. Finally, in a moment of desperation, Jimmy put the parrot in the freezer. For a few moments he heard the bird swearing, squawking, kicking and screaming and then, suddenly, there was absolute quiet.

Jimmy was frightened that he might have actually hurt the bird, and quickly opened the freezer door. The parrot calmly stepped out onto Jimmy's extended arm and said, "I'm sorry that I offended you with my language and my actions, and I ask your forgiveness. I will endeavor to correct my behavior." Jimmy was astounded at the changes in the bird's attitude and was about to ask what had changed him, when the parrot continued, "May I ask what the Chicken did?"

Thanks

God always amazes me with His faithfulness.
Please pray that God would provide $1,800 every month. Thank you very much for how you support us through prayer and/or missions support.
