Rescue Mission

During the last few weeks God has sent us a few back slidden Christians. We met
James who quit his job. Since he chose to leave his job DSS (Dept. of Social Services) would no longer help him financially. When we met James, he had no place to live. After evaluating his situation we concluded that the best course of action was to help him find an apartment and a job, so that he could support himself. We teamed up with another local agency (OFB) and immediately got him an apartment. The next day OFB helped him get a job. Please pray that James begins walking with God again.

We also met
Paul who was living under a bridge. For many years Paul has struggled with alcohol and cocaine. Due to his problems, DSS was also going to stop helping him. We met with the Deputy Commissioner of DSS and asked her if she could intervene and pay for housing for just one week. I told her if we could get his housing paid for one week, we could help him find a job, and then Paul would the be able to support himself. God granted us favor and she agreed. Two hours later we helped him find a job. Paul won’t get paid until he’s worked two weeks but a local shelter is willing to let him pay after he gets his first pay check. I have talked with Paul on numerous occasions about surrendering his life to Jesus. He acknowledges that his life has only gone well when he has surrendered to Jesus, but he does not appear ready to do so yet. Please pray that Paul will come to a complete surrender.

Last month I wrote about
Kevin who just came to faith in Jesus. Last week Kevin, Mateo, Brian (another client we’ve been serving for a few months) and I began a Bible Study. We’re now meeting weekly, going through the book, "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. It was a great study with both Kevin and Brian actively sharing. Please pray they will faithfully attend, read their book every day, and continue growing in their relationship with God.
Messianic Shabbat Service

New people are still showing up every week at our Services. The teachings on the Names of God are going well. During the two weeks I did outreach,
Ravi taught at the services. The 1st teaching lasted about 5 - 10 minutes, and his 2nd one lasted about 10 - 15 minutes. People were very impressed by this and noticed his improvement in his 2nd teaching. He is eager to teach more. I hope that people realize that if Ravi can teach at a service, they all have something to offer as well. When I taught at a church last Sunday, I brought Ravi up two times to help with the teaching. This Friday I will begin meeting with Joshua and Jan for music practice. It’s time for me to get others involved in leading worship. Please pray for them to lead us into God’s presence and for us to gather new Messianic music.

Outreach

God has kept me very busy at both outreaches last month. Throughout both festivals people kept coming to me to ask questions all throughout the day. Jewish people were curious and would talk with me and take some literature or a tape of my testimony with them. I met several inter-faith couples at both outreaches.

At the Spiedie Fest I met:

Michelle, who is Jewish and married to a Catholic

Carrie, whose parents are an inter-faith couple

Amy, who is a Christian and desires to attend Messianic Services

Dina, who is in a relationship with Eric (a Jew)

Sandy & Tony, an inter-faith couple

Melissa and David, an inter-faith couple

Lisa (a Jew), who is married to a Methodist and went to college with Vinu

Several people signed up to receive our newsletter so they can visit in the future

At Binghamton University’s Festival I met:

Katy, whose parents are an inter-faith couple

Ay-lah, an Israeli; I read her a passage from the book of Zechariah

Robbie (Jewish) and Shereen (a Muslim), who are dating

Several of these people gave me their phone number or email so I have been able to continue contact with them.
Please pray for them. At Binghamton University Vinu met Anu who just arrived from India. Vinu brought her home for dinner after the Festival and Anu called us for help a few days later. When we got together for the 2nd time Vinu shared several scriptures with her. Please pray for Anu to come to faith.

Goldberg Family

Ravi shared with one church about his opportunity to speak at our services and they told him he was welcome to speak at their church. Ravi was so excited by this invitation that he developed his own business card. Last Sunday he handed out three cards. Caleb just bought a bird feeder and is excited to put it together and see what kinds of birds live in our neighborhood. Asha can’t wait to start ballet lessons again next week. Gita tells people she has 4 names: Mickey Mouse, Snow White, Doctor and Teacher. Reva asked me to tell you that the doggie in the pet store is cute. My (Ron) ankle is finally healed. A friend saw me in pain, stopped to pray, and God immediately healed me. Thank you God! I’m even exercising for about 30 minutes every day.

Thanks

God is always faithful in providing for our needs.
Please pray that God would continue to provide $1,800 every month. Thank you very much for how you support us through prayer and/or missions support.
