Rick, has struggled with addictions and this has created problems for him. A few weeks ago he was evicted from his apartment and wound up homeless. Rick had two choices. He either needed to get a job (immediately) in order to have money for an apartment. Or, he needed to go to the Addictions Crisis Center (ACC) and get help. In order to get a bed there you need to call every hour. First of all, you never know when a bed will open up. And second, the staff at the ACC wants to see if you are serious about getting help. For several days Rick would come to our office and spend the day with us so we could call the ACC for him. Finally, after several days of trying, a bed opened up for Rick. It may have been the first time I ever hear, "Yes. We have a bed for him." What a joy it was to bring Rick to the ACC. Please pray that Rick will stick it out in the program, and get set free from his addiction. After attending the Leadership Summit I was eager to get some books from the speakers we heard. When I returned home, I began a search on the internet to find a good price for the books. This past week, several of the books arrived at my house. I am so excited to begin reading these books so I can see what God will teach me. Please pray that I learn all the things God has for me from these books. Summer Outreach At the Spiedie Fest we met Michelle. She is Jewish and has some interest in Yeshua. We talked for a little while, and then a few hours later she came back to see us again. I recently called her on the phone to invite her to service. Michele was not home, and her mother (Marilyn) answered the phone. It turns out her mom visited some of our services about 12 years ago with her aunt. Her mom is a believer and has been wondering where we worship so she can get involved in our congregation. Please pray that the whole family gets involved in our services, and that Michele surrenders her life to Yeshua. At both outreaches we gave out over 70 cassette tapes of my testimony. A few Jewish people asked me about the tapes and shared they were not yet certain what to think about Jesus. They also said that they were curious, so wanted to hear my story. Other non-believers also took copies of my story. Many of them do not go to any church services, so this was an opportunity for them to hear the good news of Messiah. A few Christians also took tapes so they could give them out to Jewish friends. Please pray that people will listen to the tapes, and that God will use them to draw people to Yeshua. Goldberg Family Now that September is here, the kids are getting involved in different activities again. Caleb, Gita and Reva are doing gymnastics. Asha is doing ballet. And Ravi has joined synchronized swim, and Civil Air Patrol (CAP). Ravi also discovered that there can be Chaplains in CAP so he asked if I (Ron) can serve as Chaplain. The leader said "yes" so I will be getting involved with Ravi. I will look forward to spending some more time with Ravi, and getting my own uniform. Vinu attended a Pampered Chef event at a friend’s home, and is now planning to host one in our home. Ravi’s Roundup In August, Mashiach Yisrael had a booth at the "Spiedie Fest." Contrary to previous years, our booth was placed in the "games and rides area." We did not receive the large crowd we did in former years. I said to my dad, "I think God is having us meet less people in this place of outreach, but we will meet more people in other festivals. Overall, I believe we will have larger success." I pray that we will have a great harvest at the up coming Broome County Ethnic Festival. Please Pray that we will reach out to many people, and that they will respond. Shabbat Services We just finished our teaching series from Fiddler on the Roof. I really enjoyed learning all the things God showed me from this movie. It was encouraging to receive a phone call from a lady who attends our services thanking me for the teachings. She said that they have been very practical, and that God was speaking to her about things in her life. Each week I would look at the lyrics of two of the songs, and had no clue what lesson I could ever get out of them. But, during the last two weeks of the series, God showed me how something He had been speaking to me at that specific time, related to those songs. God never ceases to amaze me. I recently have begun to use some story telling to tell Bible Stories. Last week Ravi shared that he needed to speak before a group as part of his English home work. I told him I wanted to use the story of how Jacob was a deceiver, and reaped what he sowed, before changing his ways. Ravi wrote his own story about Jacob. The story was incredible, and he also did an excellent job at telling the story. Thanks God is faithful to supply our needs through friends like yourself. Please pray that God would continue to provide at least $1,800 every month. Your prayers and/or missions support enable us to reach out in Greater Binghamton. Thanks.
